Dental Health Count and Match Counting Activity for Preschool
These free printable dental health count and match mats are the perfect addition to your preschool or kindergarten math centers during dental health month.

Dental Health Count and Match
If you looking for a hands-on, differentiated way for your students to learn counting, number recognition and number sense, then these dental health count and match mats are perfect for you!
They require no-prep other than printing and slipping into write and wipe pockets or laminating. There is no cutting involved. Plus, they come in color AND black and white options.
This makes it perfect for your dental health activities this February.
Setting Up the Counting Mats
Adult supervision is required for all activities I share. Please use discretion when doing the activities with children and only do activities that you feel are safe for your kids. Children under 3 should not participate in any activities that involve small pieces.

- The count and match mats (button to download is at the bottom of this post)
- Write and wipe pockets or laminator
Simply print the mats and slip them into a write and wipe pockets. You can also laminate them instead.
Differentiated Math Activities
There are three kinds of mats. One has numbers 1-10, one has numbers 1-5 repeated twice, and the final mat has numbers 11-20.
This gives you a chance to differentiate a bit and meet your students where they are.
You can also change up the manipulatives used on the mat or the way the mats are used, depending on the needs of your students.
Students can count the teeth and then put a matching number tile or number magnet on that space.
Or they can count out small objects (like mini erasers) onto the mat while practicing one to one correspondence.
Using this Dental Health Counting Printable
Students will look at a space on the mat and count how many teeth are shown in the smiling mouth.
After they are done counting they will find a corresponding number tile and cover that space with it.
This will continue until all of the spaces on the mat have been covered.
I hope this simple dental health themed math activity will be a great addition to your math centers or morning tubs this February!
